iDC delivered its first release of CertifAI just 6 months after the launch OpenAI and thus iDC has been able to take full advantage of the new world of LLM generative and retrieval augmented (RAG) AI tools. iDC is applying AI to the following key components of its CertifAI service:
Document ingestion and processing: AI uses ‘NotebookLM’ and additional agentic AI services to process incoming documents (e.g. pdf/Word/Excel files of checklists and SOP’s) to parse and harmonise them for digitization and delivery to the CertifAI tablet application. In the majority of cases AI ingestion reduces the time from paper in the office to application in the field to just a few minutes
Harmonising checklists and procedures: in the case where there are a number of similar checklists or SOPs are handling the same procedure, iDC uses retrieval augmented generation (RAG) to embed the various documents and return a harmonised procedure – a valuable ally in the world of document format and versioning proliferation.
Trend and KPI analysis (for the future…) As the iDC client base and CertifAI implementation base both grow, so too will the availability of a certified and risk- managed dataset to which AI tools can be to establish trends by activity, by well and by rig. We anticipate the first result being available in Q1 2026
