Historically, the drilling contractor’s obligation to the operator has been to deliver a properly constructed well and provide related intervention services – both to be on time and on budget. 

The first line of defence in meeting these obligations safely is a commitment from all stakeholders follow established operational procedures, be they in the form of rig specific checklists, high-level SOP’s or API recommended practices.

Real-time data quality is the cornerstone of effective rig system functionality and plays a vital role in digitalised drilling and completions workflows. This is particularly true in drilling automation and performance-based 'smart' (automated) contracts between operators and drilling contractors. IDC works closely with the service provider to certify WITSML data quality at the aggregator.

In the current world of paper checklists and SOP’s, static documents are printed, marked-up, filed and – largely – forgotten. CertifAI digitises the document source and renders it as simple, tablet application. CertifAI then goes one significant step further, treating each completed Check as a risk-assessed data source, with admin rights defining a risk escalation at the task level of each procedure.
